Vacation!

It had been 2 and a half years since we'd been on a vacation, so when we woke up last Saturday to more snow we decided to drive south. As we had three small kids in the car we weren't really sure we would make it out of the state but we thought we'd aim for a beach so the kids could see the ocean and play in the sand. The kids pleasantly surprised us and Evan was quite excited to sleep in the car overnight so we drove the 15 hour trip to Myrtle beach. We arrived at 3am and since we had not planned this vacation in advance we realized it was actually 4 am due to daylight savings time! Yikes! But we managed to get the kids in the hotel and miraculously all were asleep in 30 minutes. Of course, three hours later they were up and ready to go.
We stayed four nights and had a blast. The weather was at or near 70 each day and the one cloudy morning we went to the aquarium which was the best aquarium we'd ever seen as there were sharks and fish swimming above us in the main exhibit. We traveled until early morning again to get home but it was worth it. Even better, when we got home all of the snow was melted....well, almost all of it!

Evan only tolerated this once but hayley loved it. And yes, she has a pink purse with a "princess" kitty inside of it...














Baby Logan was there too... but he was so good and slept most of the time! He's a happy baby and a good sleeper!
