So I forgot my camera this weekend (where we enjoyed a wonderful pizza party with Great Grandma G and cousins Bev, Kev, and Amy). Sorry All! However, I thought I would do a flashback post and dedicate it to Mike, as he is the one raising our wonderful son!
"My Hero is the quiet type,
no marching bands, no media hype,
but through my eyes it's plain to see,
a hero, God has sent to me." -Unknown
Although Evan is starting to say a few words that resemble English ("At" appears to be "Cat" and "Ba" might sometimes be ball.) there is one word for sure he can say : "Da" is Mike. Every morning and every night, Evan greets Mike with a smile saying, unmistakably, "Da." I decided to write a quick post for him as he has done so much for Evan in these first 10 months. He has sacrificed furthering his career (something most men, and these days even women do not do) in order to raise Evan. He is doing a great job, which you can see by watching Evan grow into a caring, laughing, intelligent little boy each day.
Here's a video of Mike and Evan about 30 minutes after Evan was born:
Looking back on that, I'm not sure we knew what we were in for!!! But you can tell, as Mike takes his first good look at Evan, that he is in love with that little guy. And no matter how sleepless the days or nights may be, I still see that look every day on Mike's face.
Thanks, Da, you're doing a great job!!!
